Catching up!!

I have a zillion excuses as to why I haven’t blogged, none of which are amazing anyway. SO, rather than bore you with excuses, let’s get onto seeing some pictures!

The last I blogged Colby was 8 months. Well, now he’s 10 months! Yikes! Here’s his 9 month pics:

P1050649

Still a super content, happy, laid back boy!!

P1050651

P1050631

This is all he does still…just sit. He’s not rolling, crawling, nothing. His doctor isn’t too concerned because he knows Colby will get there eventually! Colby stands really well against things (that means us putting him there, he doesn’t pull himself up.) So his legs are nice and strong. And if we put him in the crawling position, he just stays that way for a minute or so then flattens out like a pancake. He just doesn’t care! Also, Colby’s  face all of a sudden turned orange. Mainly in his nose and under his eyes. We were concerned, went to the Dr., they drew blood and it all came back normal-praise God! But, still no concrete answer as to why. We’re just assuming it’s from his orange veggies he eats-although, he doesn’t eat an enormous amount. But, I am not noticing it as much as he is eating more table foods!

*And I forgot his weight and height because it was long ago! I remember the percentages though :) He was in the 30% for weight and 99% for height!

*He is a great eater and will pretty much eat anything we give him. But, he has no teeth! Craziness! At his 9 month appt, I was told I should supplement with formula since we didn’t think he was getting enough milk. Well, we started that transition right before we left for our mission trip, and he decided he was completely done nursing! So, on to formula we went 100% of the time. I was a teeny bit sad, as I nursed my others up to a year. But, 9 months is close enough! I will say, bottles of formula are soo easy! And anyone can feed him! I have some freedom! :)

*He is a great sleeper and 99% of the time wakes up happy in the mornings and from his naps and with a smile on his face.

*When he gets excited he flaps his arms like a bird and kicks his legs really fast. We love it!

*He is starting to babble more, mainly just squealing, but has said “mamamamama” and “bababababa”-but he is a quiet baby too!

*He loves watching Lily and Jameson and tolerates Jameson’s “hugs” really well. Jameson just gets so excited and squeezes Colby! And just today, Jameson randomly put his finger in Colby’s mouth far enough in to make Colby gag. Seriously?! Oh that boy of mine. But, my sweet Colby didn’t cry! Just choked a bit. I look forward to the day when Colby can stick up for himself :)

Love this picture of AJ and his boys!!

And moving right along to Colby at 10 months!

IMG_0332[1]

See? He’s standing so well by himself! He has the greatest smile and baby blue eyes!

IMG_0384[1]

He loves avocado!!

IMG_0403[1]

See his thighs chunkin’ up?! I love it! We love his curly hair and people comment on it all the time. I’m really hoping once he starts getting his hair cut that the curls will stay!IMG_0316[1]

We’ve also had the chance to go to the pool with some friends! Colby loves the water and he does great being in my arms or floating in his little flotation device.

Lots of swimming adventures-this time at cousin Owen’s house!

Ok, must stop blogging. It’s late and I’m tired! I will post more pictures soon!

8 Months Old!

Yikes. Colby turned 8 months 2 weeks ago! Where has the time gone?! Sigh. He’ll be turning 1 before I know it!  Trying to get pictures of him is a bit difficult as he just wants to move around! See?

P1050604

P1050607

Always grabbing his toes when he can!

P1050608

Got a little smile out of him!

P1050609

And just to prove he’s not ALWAYS happy (but, he usually is thankfully!) He was not enjoying this meal!! His face was just too cute that I had to take a picture of him.

What is Colby up to?

*Not much. He doesn’t crawl or roll from his back to tummy. He’s just an easy-going baby and is perfectly content to sit on the floor and play with toys. But, I’m ok with that (kind of!) Our kids were never ambitious to get moving quickly. I may have already said this before, but Lily didn’t even WALK until she was 15 months!

*He weighs 17 lbs. 7 oz. as of 2 weeks ago. He is in the 35% for weight and 95% for height!

*He is eating solids great and starting to get used to eating little chunks of lunch meat and cheese. He didn’t love avocado, but I haven’t tried it in a while so maybe he will like it!

*He is sleeping through the night!!! Praise God! I never had to let him “cry it out!” He just randomly started sleeping through one night. So thankful to get a full night’s rest!

*I know I’ve said it already, but he’s just the most happy, content little baby. He tolerates Jameson’s hugs (more like Jameson tramples him to give him a hug!) He loves watching Lily and Jameson and they just love Colby. He is one well loved little baby!

And, last Sunday at church, we had Colby dedicated. Being dedicated means we are making a public declaration to raise Colby in the ways of God, guiding him in the Word and by being godly examples as well. (And yes, some of these words I copied from his certificate we got! :)

In AJ’s defense, he didn’t realize my brother was taking pictures-but at least he was looking at the camera!

P1050620

The 5 of us! I sure love my family!

Colby is 7 Months!

Well, I’m a bit behind with this month’s post, but still needed to document my sweet boy and other life happenings!

P1050542

This sweet boy has stolen my heart! It just keeps getting closer and closer until that 1st birthday. Unreal.

P1050543

When he gets really excited, like in this picture, he kicks his legs really fast!

P1050460

He is sitting up great!! Every once in a while he falls, but he’s a pro now. Still not rolling over-I’m totally ok with that! I know that I can stick him in the middle of a bed and he’ll fall asleep without rolling! Someday he’ll do it, until then, I’m ok where he’s at!

P1050538

Sitting in the “big” high chair now! This was the first feeding in it once we got it all cleaned up and out of the attic. He knows when he goes in there that it’s time to eat!

P1050454

I can’t remember if I already posted this picture, but I love these two! Lily is such a great help with Colby and she loves to help feed him too-score! Just this morning, I was dealing with cleaning Jameson up and Colby was ready to eat, so I asked Lily if she could feed him. Her reply, “Sure!!” Thankful for her sweet spirit!
Things about Colby:

*Still not sleeping through the night-except for the last 2! He slept today until 8am! Praise God! I did have to put a binky in his mouth at 4 am and then again at 6:15, but never had to feed. Hoping he’s turning the corner...We’ll see!

*Size 2 diaper still-my kids were well out of this size by 7 months! He’s just a little thing!

*In 6-9 month clothes, mostly 9 month for the length. Although, last night I put him in 12 month pj’s since his others were dirty, and I was surprised to see they fit him well-mainly in the length. They were too big around the waist, but I’d hate it if my toes were jammed in the ends of footie pajamas like his usually are!

*Eating solids great! I haven’t given him anything he won’t eat. I have only made a couple of my own baby food variations- because I am  finding it easier to feed him pre-made stuff! Maybe I’ll get back into the routine of making my own, if not, oh well!

*Still a super happy, loving baby boy! Whenever I hold him he will bury his face into my shoulder and neck and wrap his arms around my neck. I.love.this. He’s such a sweet boy!

And now onto Easter pictures since I never posted those!

P1050462

Making our annual “resurrection rolls!” (marshmallow rolled in cinnamon/brown sugar with a crescent roll wrapped around it. Bake and when you open the roll the marshmallow is no longer there-like Jesus is no longer in the tomb!)

P1050463

Dyeing eggs!

P1050465

Our church’s annual egg hunt!

P1050467

He is ready for the hunt!

P1050468

Next year Colby will be able to find eggs!

P1050472

Showing me his loot.

P1050474

Lily with her sweet friends, Zoe and Abigail. Man, these girls are growing up way too fast!

P1050479

Our family! I think this only the second family picture we have. Sad.

P1050484

In their Easter clothes! I LOVE matching the boys! And will continue to do so until Jameson realizes it’s no longer cool :)

P1050488

Can never get them all to smile at the same time and at the same camera. Oh well!

P1050490

Pictures with cousin Owen! Love their smiling faces!

P1050491

Poor Owen is trying to escape Jameson’s grasp! I love the smiles on Lily and Colby’s faces though!

P1050504

Egg hunt at Papa and Nana’s house!

P1050517

“I got money!”

P1050518

Pretty sure he was already eating candy at this point.

P1050520

Love this man!

P1050522

More fun Easter surprises from Papa and Nana!

P1050529

Now at Grandpa and Grandma Acker’s house for an egg hunt and dinner.

P1050531

Grandpa helping Jameson find eggs.

P1050532

Lily is a pro.

P1050537

Even Colby enjoyed holding the eggs!

I wish I would’ve gotten more Easter pictures at both grandparents’ houses, but I failed to do that! We were able to have a yummy brunch and egg hunt at my parent’s house the day before Easter, and then have dinner and another egg hunt with AJ’s parents on Easter Sunday. The kids were spoiled with fun treats in the eggs and special presents- and they were loving every minute of the celebrating! AJ and I were in the Easter play at church this year, so we were a bit pooped during these celebrations! But, it was so fun to be a part of a production that proclaimed who Christ was, and what He did-dying on the cross for our sins, buried, and rose again!! Hallelujah! Thank you, Jesus, for saving my lost soul!!

Colby is 6 Months!

I can’t believe my sweet baby is already a half of a year old!!! It’s going by sooo fast! Just for fun, here is Jameson at 6 months old:

And Colby at 6 months:

Image (18)

Image (19)

Colby is definitely skinnier!! But, I think the black/white photo of Jameson looks a ton like Colby! I also love that they are wearing the same sweater! Too fun! :)

P1050444

At his 6 month appointment, Colby weighed 15 lbs. 12 oz. (19th percentile!) and his height was 28 1/2 inches (96 percentile!) So, he is still long and lean just like his daddy! You can still see his little thighs chunkin’ up in these pictures!

P1050445

His hair is still staying curly too! Well, mainly the longer parts are curly. Once the longer hair falls out, it’ll be interesting to see if it comes in curly. Or, maybe to maintain the curl I have to keep his hair longer! :)

P1050442

He is getting used to his bouncer. The other kids loved it, so I’m hoping he loves it at some point. He has awesome neck/head strength, so he sits really well in it. His legs aren’t super strong, so I think he hasn’t conquered the jumping part of it. He’ll get there though! He isn’t rolling over yet either-totally normal for my kids! He sits up really well if a boppy or pillow is behind him. Still hates tummy time. Partly my fault because I don’t put him on his tummy enough. I know he’ll roll over at some point! :)

P1050437

P1050443

You can always count on Jameson to get in Colby’s face or play space! This picture is so sweet to me though, because Jameson was showing Colby something and Colby was paying attention to him. Can’t wait for the day when the boys can really play with each other!

P1050450

And, since he is 6 months, it’s time to start baby cereal!!! This was last week and he did really well with it. Of course, he made a funny face the first mouthful he got, but he got the hang of it and would open his mouth for more.

P1050453

Somewhat of a smile here! He was so ready for bed during this first feeding of cereal and was kind of whining during mouthfuls of it-so he wasn’t the happiest he usually is!

Colby still wakes up once at night, (3 am! Ouch!) so I was hoping by feeding him cereal before his last feeding of the day would help him sleep through the night. So far, that hasn’t worked :/ He is still taking 3 naps and we cut out the last cat nap (usually between 6:30 and 7:00pm) in hopes of putting him to bed earlier and helping him sleep longer. He’s done great with going to bed earlier, but, again, not sleeping through the night. I’m not the parent who likes the cry it out method, so I’m ok with it right now! Maybe as we add in more food that will help. One can only hope right?! The crazy thing is, I forgot how to do the whole baby food thing!!! Yes, I know I have done this twice before, and I always think I’ll remember what to do when the time comes, but my mind is a blank! Like, when do I add in more cereal throughout the day? After how long is he on cereal before adding in veggies and fruit?! I know I’ll figure it out, but it’s driving me crazy that I don’t remember anything. I will be referring back to old blog posts of when Jameson was a baby to hopefully help me remember!
