I'll admit it...I'm not much of a camping girl. I think I like the idea of it more than I like doing it! But I LOVED camping as a little kid, but that's when your parents did all the work of packing everything up, making all the meals, and doing all the laundry when we got home. Now that I'M the parent, I hate doing those things! Our family (AJ, me, and Lily) usually only camp 1 time a summer-it's not bad. And really, when we get there we have lots of fun! This year I was dreading it since I'm a big, pregnant mama! I was seriously thinking about not going and just letting AJ and Lily go-or just AJ go since Lily can be a lot of work! In the end, I decided to go since it was only for 2 nights and I knew Lily would have so much fun. We ended up going to Foster Lake this year-only about an hour away which was so nice! The day we are supposed to leave is when it started POURING outside! I was so mad. Of all the weekends to camp it rains on on our weekend! We weren't actually leaving until later in the day (after Lily napped) and one of the couple's we went with offered for us to take their parent's really nice trailer so we could sleep in it! YAHOO! I should mention that had we'd not taken the trailer, AJ was going to sleep in a tent with his buddy Josh, and Lily and I were going to sleep in Josh's trailer with his wife Lynn. So, in the end, I would've been in a trailer no matter what! It was nice we had it though for our own space/junk/food/etc. Of course as we're pulling out to leave to go camping the sun is out! It didn't rain at all after that! It was beautiful! Still, I was just fine with our sleeping arrangement's!Our wonderful "home" while camping! We were really roughing it! :) Love this picture of Lily with her daddyThe master cook-well, this time he was just boiling water, but he cooked bacon later!Josh and Lynn's little guy, Brody. He's 4 months younger than Lily. My sister Leandra doing what we do best while camping: Relaxing and reading!Little Pink Riding Hood!Lily and Brody playing nicely. This didn't happen a lot, mainly because Lily would interrogate Brody!Playing on some fun rafts! These provided hours of entertainment for the kids-it was awesome!Andrea, Kelsie, and AJ relaxing in the sunThe cute kiddos eating dinner one night. AJ and me playing some track ball-at least I think that's what it was called! All I know is that I wasn't very good at it!Leandra and Kevin
Lily and her buddy Tucker
Andrea and Kelsie making s'mores
Snuggling by the campfire
Lily snuggling with AJ in our bed-yes, we had a bed while camping! It was great!
We really did have a fun time and once again I'm not sure if I'm going to want to go next year knowing I'll have an 8 month old! I'm sure I'll end up going though since I just don't want to miss out on all the fun! :)

You were at my old stomping grounds. My parents live up the hill from Foster Lake and I sent countless hours every summer at the lake! Such good memories! You trip looked fun! Love the trailer though, wish we had one for all our camping extravaganzas! We camped in the rain twice this year and it is NOT fun, I'm glad you missed that experience!
That looks like fun! You are brave to go camping whilke you're pregnant! I love that you guys had a bed. That is MY way of camping. If I can sleep well, I could camp for a week.
Now that's MY kind of camping! :) The last time we went Hannah was a year and a few months, and it was alot of work, however it was just David and I. I know if we had gone this year, it would be really hard w/ Isaiah. I would much prefer to have a trailer if I were to go again. :)
You really deserved to camp with a bed! bEing Prego and all! Looks like fun, bummer we missed out! Oh so many more years ahead of us! One thing I don't like about camping is the same as you...all the hard work that we have to do as mom's! :) BUt what great memories!
That makes me miss home!!! We use to camp and boat at Foster all of the time growing up. It was beautiful, the lakes here just really aren't the same with no trees and all those BROWN mountains. Glad you had a good time and thanks for reminding me how nice Oregon can be in the summer, I don't go "home" enough!
